Dawson City, Yukon (I was very sad to leave Alaska)

I took these pictures as we came down off the Top of the World Highway.  This is Dawson City.

I order to get to Dawson City we had to cross a river on a ferry.  It is the only way and this is the ferry.

Here comes a camper off the ferry as we waited.  The ferry is small and I was thinking no way.

Here we are approaching the ferry to load beside the van.  Tight fit.

Here is what it looks like as we rode the ferry.  The best part of the experience was that it was free.

I checked out the river boat.

The whole town is western with dirt streets.  Very unique.

We had a visitor at our campsite.  A Yukon fox.

I spend some of time as John's activity planner.  He went panning for gold, again.  Dawson City is a hugh gold mining area.  Some people have been lucky.  You know John is never idle.  Part of his  time in Dawson City he spent getting the tire changed and the damaged one repaired.  The changed the tire on the fifth wheel himself.

The next couple of days we spent making our way to Stewart, BC and Hyder, Alaska.  We spent one night in Whitehorse and one night at Dease Lake, both in British Columbia.  These are some of the sites along the way.

See the four fifth wheels.  Just to show you we are not the only fools around.  The second fifth wheel is actually from South Carolina.  We all stopped at the same rest area briefly and we saw their tag.
